Bank Holiday Waste Collections

Next Monday is a bank holiday so that means there will be a slight disruption in the weekly refuse collection.

The next collection of black bags is therefore Thursday 3rd June.

All bags or bins must be placed at your usual collection point by no later than 7.15am on the day of collection, and no earlier than the evening before.

Planning Application - No 1 Broadway

The Council's Planning Committee is considering the planning application for No 1 Broadway this week.

The proposals are for the construction of 11 one bedroom flats - each suitable for 2 people.

The proposals are that, if planning permission is granted, Cardiff Community Housing Association will own and manage the development. CCHA have submitted a letter to clarify the proposed occupants of the development and identifies that this development is considered to be suitable for ‘key workers’ or ‘Community Living’ accommodation. CCHA suggest that people involved in unpaid voluntary activity, or working in local community action groups or voluntary personal services (e.g. care for the elderly), or people running local community facilities or local groups could be accommodated in such a development. CCHA state that these types of properties are generally let to tenants on low to modest incomes (of up to £20,000 - single person/couple, or £25,000 – family).

The recommendation is that the proposals be accepted.
